Is it just me or is everyone tired of winter? I don't mind the snow,but the freezing rain. Then when it melts, flooding. This year is beginning to look like the winter of '97.

In '97 there were places where there was no power for weeks. All the power lines went down because of all the freezing rain. Then the flooding, the president called it a natural disaster. We had people living in shelters, for months, in some areas. People died, so did livestock and so many pets that were left behind. It wasn't Katrina, but it was bad.

On the way to a doctor appointment, my Dad rolled their 1/2ton pickup. Both Mom and my Dad had their seat belts on, but guess who didn't in the backseat. Yeah, that was a ride. Spent a week in hospital, then home to the flood, that's going on now.

Shade123 and her sister spent the afternoon sandbagging today, got to get out of school to do it. Friends of her father, who live in town, next to the river. We don't live in the valley so we only have to worry about basement pumps, water level in ground is about 3 and 1/2 feet above basement floor.

I really, really wish we lived somewhere else. Warm. No freezing rain. Soft rainfall. By the ocean. It can get cold, but not the biting, bitter, frozen cold here.

I know there are places that are worse than here, but I guess, I am just tired.
